Abbey Grove

 

In December 1998, land formerly owned by a Mrs Wiseman was acquired and the Woodland Trust in conjunction with the Felixstowe Society, started planting.

IMG_0052 Abbey Grove contains 10 acres of woodland including hazel, oak, ash and cherry trees.
IMG_0089 The hard-working volunteer wardens- Bob Stoner and Judith Hedges lead a working party every Tuesday from 9.30-12.30.You could learn about coppicing and make a valuable contribution to the maintenance and improvement of the woodland.

IMG_0060 A variety of wildlife has been observed in Abbey Grove including a Barn Owl, two of which have visited the barn owl box on occasion but not breeding, Kestrel, Chaffinch, Green Woodpecker, Magpie, Song Thrush and Wood Pigeon.
